What I do
I love being outside with a camera. Mountains, wildlife, skiing, traveling — that’s where photography started for me and still what I love shooting most. Lately I’ve also been doing more real estate, events, and commercial work, which has been really fun. I like getting to shoot completely different things and figuring out how to make each one look good.
About Me
I'm Luka Smalls — an 18-year-old wildlife and landscape photographer born and raised in Aspen, Colorado. I've grown up racing for AVSC, living in these mountains through every season, and learning the land the way most people never get to.
Photography found me the same way skiing did — by just being out there. Early mornings watching elk bugle in the valley, afternoons chasing raptors along the Roaring Fork, golden hours on ridgelines most people only see from the gondola. My camera goes everywhere my skis do.
What I shoot isn't wilderness from a distance. It's the place I call home — the peaks, the wildlife, the light that hits these mountains in a way that stops you cold. I want the people who love Aspen the way I do to be able to take a piece of it with them.
